Missoula Area Land Use Element Will Become Effective June 6, 2019
LAND USE ELEMENT AND MAP APPROVED
May 2, 2019:
On May 2, 2019, the Missoula County Commissioners unanimously adopted a Resolution of Intent to approve the Missoula Area Land Use Element.
The Missoula Area Land Use Element, which includes the Missoula Area Land Use Map will become effective on June 6, 2019 when the County Commissioners adopt the Final Resolution.
Finally copy edits, and adjustments approved by the County Commissioners are being incorporated into the document by staff. Documents will be posted as they become available.
Thank you to all the residents of Missoula County who participated in the Missoula Area Mapping Project.
How do you want to grow over the next 20 years?
The county's original land use map was first adopted in 1975 and, after 40+ years, it no longer fully represents our community vision or values. Updating the land use map is giving us an opportunity to re-envision our community; allowing us to focus on the issues we face today by proactively planning for the future.
Where are the final documents now?
Access the Element and the Map here.
These documents reflect the actions of the Planning Board and County Commissioners. They will be effective on June 6, 2019.
Where will the final documents be in the future?
Please note: Eventually, this site will be shut down and the Element will be available in the Plans section of the CAPS website and the map will be incorporated into the Missoula County Property Information System.
